Smoking Moon Dandy (SMD) playes 70's music with a twist. It is like ZZ Top mixtured with U2, Thin Lizzy, Grand Funk, Doors and Bad Company.
You can hear it in some of the lyrics of Hlynur Jökulsson ( Lennie) the vocalist of the band. Hlynur is a songwriter from Iceland and have deep roots in the hard working fisherman culture. He
was raised up with missisippi delta and chicaco blues, Jhonny Cash, Elvis Presley and 70's rock. His vocal use have been descriped as a mixture of some kind of version of Paul Rogers, Brandon Flowers and Jackie Leven. His guitar style is sprung from mostly from the blues and 70's rock that he play's with feeling. He has been living in Norway for passed 10 years and playing in many clubs and bars.

Sigfred Opheim is a baseplayer that has a special playing style, it is obvious that his roots comes from 70's rock and roll. He has been playing cover songs in many different
bands in Stavanger Norway and met with Hlynur when Hlynur moved to Stavanger and they played together in a rocken roll coverband.
Sigfred ( Sigge) is from hard working, working class famely and have worked since he was 16 but never let down the music.

David Schöne is a drummer that comes from finnmark Norway. His playing style is based on hard rythm like the ACDC drummer Phil Rudd and Christoph "Doom" Schneider the drummer in Rammstein. Less is more he alway's say and the band agrees. David is a direct streight forward kind of guy and always speaks his mind, like his rythm that is so steady that he is like a breathing metronom.

The newest member of the band Lars Rune Rebbestad (Rebbe)
is a guitarist, producer and a komposer that adds the final touch to the songs of SMD.
